Welcome to the Kurdistan Accrediting Association for Education (KAAE).

It is an honor to lead KAAE as its President at a pivotal moment for the education sector globally and in the Kurdistan Region. Established by legislation enacted by the Kurdistan Regional Government in June 2022, KAAE serves as the cornerstone of national education reform. It stands at the forefront of enhancing education quality across the entire sector by overseeing the full student journey, spanning K-12 and higher education, through transparent, accountable and peer-review based quality assurance and accreditation processes.

At KAAE, we view quality assurance as the fundamental building block of a nation’s intellectual capital, economic competitiveness, cultural dynamism, and long-term development. Our work is anchored in four core values: academic excellence, accountability, continuous improvement, and transparency.

As Confucius observed, “Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace.” At KAAE, we view quality education as the engine that drives progress and peace, linking students, institutions, the workforce, and society. Ensuring highest quality of education is not just a regulatory function; it is a strategic for student success, institutional effectiveness and social and economic progress.

Looking ahead, our vision is clear; to position KAAE as a trusted national regulator and a regional reference point for educational quality assurance. Through close collaborations with educational institutions, ministries, national and international partners, we will continue to strengthen governance, address challenges, and ensure that education in the region remains rigorous, relevant, and future oriented.
