Role Summary:
The Kurdistan Accrediting Association for Education (KAAE) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to serve as Accountant. This role is critical in ensuring the financial integrity, transparency, and operational efficiency of the organization. The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial activities, preparing reports, supporting budget development, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable financial regulations.
As a mission-driven organization, KAAE is committed to enhancing the quality of education across the Kurdistan Region through rigorous accreditation standards and a culture of continuous improvement. The Accountant will play a key role in supporting this mission by maintaining accurate financial records and contributing to the overall sustainability and accountability of the organization. The accountant will work closely alongside the HR and Finance Manager to be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
The accountant reports directly to the HR and Finance Manager.
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
- Assist in developing and managing the annual budget, monitoring expenditure, and preparing financial forecasts.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Manage payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in an educational or non-profit organization.
Education – Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Education – Desired:
CPA Certification
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
