The Kurdistan Accrediting Association for Education establishes, organizes and sustains mechanisms for the peer review and rigorous application of standards across education in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Role Summary: The K-12 Commission Coordinator provides direct operational and administrative support to the Director of the Commission on K–12 Education (K12). This position ensures the smooth coordination of commission activities, including accreditation reviews, institutional communications, meeting preparation, and documentation. The K-12 Coordinator plays an essential role in ensuring efficiency, organization, and consistency across the Commission’s work, supporting KAAE’s mission to enhance the quality and accreditation of K–12 education.

This position reports directly to the Director of Commission on K-12 Education.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate accreditation documents submitted by K-12 educational institutions and their adherence to accreditation standards and write reports to summarize findings
  • Ensure the highest quality of the submitted materials by identifying gaps and proposing processes to guide schools on required improvements
  • Conduct needs-analysis for applicant schools based on self-study and evidence submitted in Kurdish language
  • Identify areas where additional corrective actions are needed to meet accreditation requirements
  • Prepare periodic monitoring reports for the Director which summarize progress, risks, and recommended interventions
  • Facilitate clear, accurate, and timely communication between the accreditation commission and K-12 educational institutions in Kurdish Language, both written and verbal
  • Serve as the primary liaison for schools seeking guidance or clarification regarding accreditation requirements, deadlines, and processes in English and Kurdish languages
  • Assist the Director in preparing accreditation materials, evaluation documents, reports, and presentations
  • Contribute to training initiatives and capacity-building efforts for schools regarding accreditation standards
  • Coordinate and track the progress of K–12 school accreditation processes, including scheduling site visits, collecting reports, and maintaining documentation.
  • Support the Director in organizing Commission meetings, preparing agendas, and recording official minutes.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for schools, providing information on accreditation requirements, procedures, and timelines.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication between the Commission and other KAAE departments.
  • Deliver presentations and briefings in Kurdish at schools, workshops, and Ministry-related meetings to explain accreditation processes and quality standards.
  • Maintain and update accreditation databases, school records, and filing systems in line with KAAE’s records retention standards.
  • Assist with drafting correspondence, reports, and presentations related to the Commission’s work.
  • Support the preparation and logistics of training sessions, workshops, and events related to school accreditation and quality improvement.
  • Monitor compliance with Commission policies, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with the Ministry of Education to remain informed of relevant laws, regulations, and policies that impact K–12 accreditation, school operations, and quality standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director to ensure effective functioning of the Commission.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in education, school quality assurance, project coordination, or administrative roles within educational or non-profit organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder projects or committees.
  • Proven ability to manage documentation, deadlines, and communication workflows

Education – Required: Bachelor’s degree in education or education related major (math, language arts, science…)

Education – Preferred: Master’s degree in Education Leadership, Curriculum Development, or a related discipline.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Kurdish; Arabic is an asset.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and document management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation abilities in Kurdish, with confidence in addressing educators, school leaders, and ministry representatives.

Specialized Skills – Required:

  • Understanding of K–12 education systems, accreditation processes, and school governance structures.
  • Knowledge of the Ministry of Education’s policies, standards, and procedures within the Kurdistan Region.
  • Ability to prepare and format professional documents, reports, and meeting materials.
  • Familiarity with data tracking, survey systems, and KPI monitoring tools.
  • Professional discretion and commitment to confidentiality.
